November is a month of remembrance. We're so lucky to live in such a diverse country, and have the veterans - active or otherwise - to thank for that. You can simply pay your respects this month by proudly displaying a poppy on your clothes. Veterans will be out and about offering them in exchange for a small donation. Remembrance Day Ceremony and Parade | Sunday, November 11th

In honour of our veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of Canada, the City of Vancouver is holding its annual Remembrance Day ceremony and parade at Victory Square (200 West Hastings Street - between Cambie Street and Hamilton Street).

The ceremonies start around 9:45 AM and run until 11:00 AM after which attendees will pay their respects with 2 minutes of silence, and then the 21-gun salute will signal the start of the parade. 
REBGV Blanket Drive | Realtors Care®
 

Between November 13th and 20th, REALTOR® volunteers will collect warm clothing and blankets across the region. The donations are then distributed to partner charities from the same community where the item was donated. 

Please donate the following items for all ages:

  • gently used or new blankets or sleeping bags
  • warm clothing, coats
  • hats, gloves, scarves
  • new socks and underwear
  • plastic ponchos, bivy sacks 

Socks are especially important for the homeless. They're as good as gold.
