Palm Springs. I Love You

Dear Palm Springs thank you for another fantastic week.

In no particular order, here's why I love PS. It's a quick, easy two hour(ish) direct flight from Vancouver. The pace slows right down. The warm desert heat greets you as you take your first steps off the plane. Renting a car & navigating around the area is easy. The architecture: It's mid modern century heaven. My favourite thing to do is to cruise on a bike and take photos of the beautiful homes with their bright coloured doors. I find it inspirational.

Where to eat:

Breakfast: Cheeky's. Bacon flights. Need I say more.  If freshly squeezed oj and organic eggs are on the menu you can't really go wrong in my opinion.  http://www.cheekysps.com/new/cheekys-home.html

Lunch: Kings Highway Diner: http://www.kingshighwaydiner.com/

Dinner: The Workshop Kitchen +Bar http://workshoppalmsprings.com/ The Purple Palm in the Colony Hotel. Both have out door dining, and a gorgeous ambience.  http://www.purplepalmrestaurant.com/

Where to stay: Rent a mid century modern home, or... Korakia Penisione, http://korakia.com, The Avalon http://www.avalon-hotel.com/palm-springs, The Parker,  https://www.theparkerpalmsprings.com/, The Ace Hotel http://www.acehotel.com/palmsprings

Driving: You can't take an uber from the airport unless you cross the street, and exit the airport parking lot. It's a bit of a hassle, best to grab a taxi or rent a car which I prefer. Palm Springs is easy to navigate & needed if you want to do any exploring of the nearby sights.

Exploring: Nearby Salvation Mountain, Joshua Tree National Park. Pioneertown, it's feels like the wild west. Worth checking out even if it's just to catch some live music and cheesey fries at Pappy & Hariets.

Real Estate:  Yes, we know a lot of fantastic Realtors and mortgage brokers in the area who we can recommend if you are intertersted in purchasing a vacation home.
