Brookhouse Residences | East Vancouver

Our Story:

The Brookhouse Residence was commissioned to be built in 1908 by real estate agent George N. Jordan. The current historic name was not imprinted until after 1921 when Albert Arthur Brookhouse purchased the property and moved his family in. A. A. Brookhouse was one of Vancouver’s prominent figures as he and his business partner, Harry Cowan, were owner-operators of Cowan & Brookhouse - a very successful commercial printing and publishing operation. The neighbourhood used to be referred to as “Grandview Hill” and was home to all sorts of elite members of Vancouver’s society; similar to what Shaughnessy is today.

After 40 years and a few owners, developer James Evans was approached by the City of Vancouver with an interest in collaborating on a project to restore the then abandoned home into a small multi-family development. With a passion for maintaining the neighbourhood, James was excited to restore the old heritage home dubbed, “A keystone to our past,” thus the one-of-a-kind Brookhouse Residences was born and will carry on a legacy of unique heritage living for generations to come.

We just got back from the EV Exchange which was held in Seattle this year. This conference brings together all of the North American EV shops and allows us to network and connect with each other. We are a global brand and this event keeps us tight-knit. Check out the highlights below.
Andrew kicked off the event by speaking on the opening panel with Engel & Völkers Americas' president and CEO Anthony Hitt. Nerve-racking to say the least, but he killed it!
It may have been a work event, but that doesn't mean it was a no-fun zone!

Nina and our "loft buddy" Molly spent some downtime mingling. They always look camera-ready without even trying.
We brought home the EV Cup! It's a HUGE honour to be acknowledged #1 for our commitment to brand standards and we couldn't have done it without our amazing clients (that's you!)

Thank you to each and every one of you who allowed us to stay true to who we are while helping you find your place to call home.
