It's February already?!

Wow, January flew by didn't it? Welcome to the second and shortest month of the year! This month, we'll celebrate Family Day and Chinese New Year. We've got you covered for things to do around the city so you can start planning a fun-filled month. Who says you need to wait until spring to enjoy what our community has to offer?

Last month we announced our exciting new collaboration. Now that everyone is settled in, we're going to take a moment to introduce ourselves. We had a bit of fun and wrote each other's bios. Check out what we had to say about each other below.

Family Day | February 2018

There are many things happening around Vancouver this month! For Family Day weekend, a lot of the mountains are offering discounts on passes. If you're not into rolling around in the snow, try the Hot Chocolate Festival or a Winter Farmer's Market. Who knows what you'll find?

Hastings Park and Nat Bailey Stadium have Winters Farmers Markets on until mid-April.

For all of the snow bunnies out there, a few of the local mountains are offering discounts on passes. If you want to head out of town, Whistler is offering 50% off of lift tickets for the whole day on February 12th and the Sea to Sky Gondola is offering 50% off of day tickets throughout the whole weekend! If you want to stay closer to town, Mount Seymour is offering complimentary lift passes after 2:30PM for children under 12 who are accompanied by a paying adult. Grouse Mountain has a similar deal as Whistler with 50% off of admission to the mountain, so if you’re not a skier or snowboarder there are many other activities to enjoy at the Peak of Vancouver.

If you already have plans for Family Day, don't worry, February is jam packed with activities to enjoy!

The Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival has been going on since January 20th, and it's last day is on February 14th. It's a good opportunity to explore the city and find little gems that will satisfy those hot chocolate cravings!

February 16th is the start of Chinese New Year in 2018. To ring in the Year of the Dog, join the community of Chinatown for their parade on Sunday, February 18th at 11AM. The Chinese definitely don't fall short in celebrating and showing off their culture. Don't miss out on all of the excitement!

Those ladies out there who love shredding down the side of a mountain (or even if you don't but would like to get some practice in surrounded by some other rad ladies while supporting an amazing cause!!) why not check out Shred for the Cause "Locals Edition" at Mount Seymour on Monday nights until March 26 in support of The Bloom Group. For this event, they're offering $15 lift tickets to ladies from 6-10PM.

To round out the end of the month, The Vancouver International Wine Festival starts on February 24th and runs until March 4th at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
